Who Inspires Me: Robin Williams

When asked by someone about who inspires you, it really is a difficult question for me to answer. While trying to think of the answer my mind begins to wander to all the times I looked up to someone. As I did I was able to think of someone, someone who always made me laugh, and has made an impact in my life. Throughout my childhood I watched a great deal of movies and television so I began to see a recurring actor and comedian in the media. After wondering who this man was that always made me happy I learned his name to be Robin Williams. After learning his name I began to look up all of his work and started my binge watching of all of his movies, which in turn made me emotionally attached to him and his work. So during the summer of 2014 the death of Robin really had a huge impact on me emotionally, knowing the man who had made me so happy for so many years was gone.

After the death of Robin Williams it became known to the world that he had suffered through depression, anxiety, and Lewy Body Dementia. This created even more respect for Robin from me, due to what he had done. Even though he was going through so much he truly wanted to make other people happy. In my life I tend to put others in front of me, and after learning that he had done the same, and for so long really had a huge impact on the way I saw him. I see Robin Williams as a truly amazing man, who will always make me smile. Even now as I watch his movies I still laugh, smile, and cry during the times he really works the emotions out of the audience.

So whenever someone asks me who inspires me or who my role model is, I can say without a doubt that it is Robin Williams, the man who has truly changed my life.
